South West Trains – Putney Station

The Input Group were appointed to carry out improvements at Putney as part of the National Stations Improvement Plan. This included the upgrading of the booking hall, improved ticketing and customer information facilities. The project also entailed the provision of a new canopy on Platform 1, refreshing station Front façade and enhanced the retaining wall. 

What was asked

The project required the careful integration of state-of-the-art facilities with the classic design of Putney Station. 

Alterations and refurbishment to main station concourse were required, inclusive of new retail space, and formation of new ticket office. Improvement to station façade whilst also providing accessible toilets were also carried out.

How We Did It

Careful planning for the works ensured that there were minimal interruptions to regular station operations.

An 80m canopy was installed on Platform 1 along with the formation of new accessible customer information points on Platforms 2 & 3. This also required the installation, improvement and alteration of Platform drainage.
